Ithain and the SilarasereLong ago, when the world was young and men and Indoranere still lived in peace, in a village near the sea there was born a silver-haired boy. His name was Ithain, and he was his father Silen’s pride and joy. As Ithain grew and learned to shift between forms as all Indoranere do, it became obvious that he was different from the other village children. It wasn’t just his hair, which shaded to black at the tips, or his eyes, which never changed from the clear blue they had been as a baby, but his animal form, which was a snow-white wolf. You know well the legend of his bag, full of the Dream-sand that can bring dreams or nightmares, or merely deep, deep sleep. You may have heard his footsteps at night, while lying in your bed on the borders of sleep and waking. You may have felt the sand fall gently on your closed eyes and bring to you a dream so sweet waking was unwanted, or a nightmare so disturbing that morning was a release. But do you know where it is the Sandman gets this wondrous stuff? No? Then climb upon my knee, child, and watch the flames dance before us as I tell you the tale.  The Strata for Sandman

Concrete AngelThe sound of the slap rang through the house. Two children, supposedly asleep but in reality wide awake, cringed and dove beneath their blankets in their upstairs bedroom. A third now lay on the floor of hers, crying and holding her face. Above her a woman stood, her mother only by a freak biological chance. The girl couldn’t have been more than six or seven years old and wore a thin hand-me-down nightdress that had seen better days.  “You stupid little bitch,” her mother snarled, grabbing the girl’s arms and hauling her back up to her feet. “I told you, told you, to have that light out at eight-thirty. I shall do wordart primarily.
That being simply taking quotes or bits of poems or song lyrics, mucking about in PSP and/or Animation Shop with background, font, and text effects, and experimenting with the cool stuff I can do.
If ye got a favorite quote or poem/song/whatever and would like to see it done in this fashion, let me know. You can add details on what you'd like the finished image to look like if you want, colors, font, positioning, a pic or two you'd like incorporated, etc. and I'll try to make it look that way.
gets the first one. I'll try and get it up here sometime next week!
